These fresh earrings remind me of the early spring hyacinths that appear in my garden!  The beautiful long oval dichroic glass cabochons have the soft subtle colors of the first blooms of spring, violets, greens and a touch of blue.  I created these earrings by layering the colored dichroic glass with a thin clear glass cap and then fully fusing the layers in the kiln.  These earrings are softly beautiful with subtle shifts of color all with beautiful spring shades!  The dichroic layer emerges with a soft sparkle and just seems to glow from deep inside the glass!  These are beautiful, classy earrings that would look great for a night out with a fancy dress or a busy work day.

The ear wires are made of strong sterling silver wires that have a tiny bead and some wire wrapping at the bend in the wire.  The earrings measure 1/2 inch wide by 1 3/4 inches long, including the ear wires.  Tiny soft hypoallergenic ear wire grips are included so the earrings will not slip out.

  • 1/2 inch wide (1.2 cm) by 1 3/4 ( 4 cm) long drop
  • dichroic glass cabochons
  • sterling silver ear wires

FAQ   Dichroic glass was first developed by NASA as part of their satellite mirrors. The exceptionally thin coatings are applied to glass in very controlled environments. Di-chroic means two colors and this glass reflects/transmits different colors depending on the angle of light. When it is worn with different colors, it can pick up and reflect some of those colors so it really enhances the total look. This glass is moody and beautiful.
