Morning Glory Argentium Silver Wire Wrapped Dichroic Glass Earrings
The colors in these dichroic fused glass, wire wrapped, dangling earrings remind me of morning glories! These earrings are really sparkly and somewhat dramatic and one-of-a-kind. There are several colors of metallic dichroic glass layered on a black base and capped with a smooth dome of clear glass. The colors range from a deep cobalt blue and purple at the top of the cabochons to a bright pink, violet and coppery green toward the bottom. These colors really pop against the black background color!
The cabochons have an oval shape and have been grooved to accept an argentium sterling silver wire. The wire wraps around the cabochons and twists into a bail at the top. Argentium silver is a very high quality sterling silver that I like to work with because it does not tarnish as readily as regular sterling. Less polishing is good!
These dichroic glass earrings are a bit bigger than the usual size that I make. They measure a full 2 inches from the bottom of the cabochons to the top of the ear wires. The width is about 5/8 inch. They should dangle and bauble quite nicely.
The ear wires are sterling silver with delicate wire wrapping and silver beads at the bend.
